SQUADS & TEAMS

We have a number of different Squads at SGA, each following different pathways through the BG system.

We endeavour to fulfil each individual child's needs and believe in keeping training hours low to allow children the freedom to enjoy the fun things in life, sleepovers, parties, holidays and other sports. We understand the importance of education and the need for rest periods which is why we allow our squads precious time off during half terms and summer holidays. 

Rainbow Squad:

1hr a week

This is a baby devlopment group aged 4-5yrs and coached by Sarah & Emma. They are tested on varous strength & flexibility skills which they will need for a competitive level in gymnastics. When they are 6yrs old they are tested and invited to either our Floor & Vault or Women's Artistic Squad groups.

Floor & Vault Squad:

Seniors = 6hrs a week 

This group is for gymnasts aged 10yrs + that will compete in various intermediate/advanced interclub competitions throughout the year

Juniors = 3hrs a week

This group is for gymnasts aged 6yrs + that will compete in various novice/intermediate interclub competitions throughout the year

Advanced Recreational Squad: 

1hr 15 mins a week

This is a group for gymnast that excell in the general recreational levels and do not want to necessarily compete. They work on harder tumbling skills as well as more specific conditioning

Women's Artistic Squad:

10-16hrs a week 

This group is for gymnasts showing progression on all four pieces to possibly compete at regional or national level. They maybe entered for NDP Grades in February/March/April and depending on readiness and at the coaches descretion the South East Regional Championships in the Autumn.

Gymnasts from the club are selected at different testings throughout the year and invited to trial squad sessions. Each squad has a different training leotard and may require certain uniform for competition/training as well as hand guards for bar training.
